Dr. Aleksandr G. Kravetsky


Dr. Kravetsky Aleksandr Gennadievich (PhD in Philology) is a Leading Researcher at the Institute of the Russian Language named after V.V. Vinogradov of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Dr. Kravetsky's research interests are as follows: Church Slavonic, History of the Russian language on the threshold of the New Age, History of the Russian literary language, History of the Russian Church. Together with Dr. A.A. Pletneva he is an editor of the "The Big Dictionary of Church Slavonic Language of the New Time" (2 volumes, Moscow, 2016-2019). He is an author of the following books:

  • Church Slavonic. 5 editions, Moscow, 1996-2012. (Co-author A.A. Pletneva);

  • History of the Church Slavonic language in Russia (XIX-XX centuries). Moscow, 2001. (Co-author A.A. Pletneva);

  • Sacred Council of the Russian Orthodox Church 1917-1918. Review of deeds. 3 volumes, Moscow, 2000-2002. (Co-authors A.A. Pletneva, Gezela-Afanasy Schroeder and Gunther Schulz);

  • Church mission in an era of changes (between preaching and dialogue). Moscow, 2012.

Dr. Pletneva Aleksandra Andreevna (PhD in Philology) is a Leading Researcher at the Institute of the Russian Language named after V.V. Vinogradov of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Dr. Pletneva's research interests are as follows: Church Slavonic, Lexicology, History of the Russian language on the threshold of the New Age, Folk writing, Popular literature, Old Church Slavonic, History of the Russian literary language. Together with Dr. A.G. Kravetsky she is an editor of the "The Big Dictionary of Church Slavonic Language of the New Time" (2 volumes, Moscow, 2016-2019). She is an author of the following books:
