The Second Pan-European Orthodox Liturgical Music Conference
"Church Singing in Crisis Conditions"
We are happy to announce that despite the uncertainty in the world caused by the pandemic the Committee is planning to hold the second Pan-European Orthodox Liturgical Music Conference from 28 to 30 January 2021.
The conference will feature lectures by renowned international specialists in the field of choral singing and church-musicianship, workshops and group discussions. The focus this time will be on the difficulties of church singing during various historical crises, reflecting the current situation across the parishes and how it could be overcome. The conference welcomes church choir conductors, singers, readers, and all others interested in Russian Orthodox choral music. The working language of the conference will be Russian, with synchronous translation into English and French. However, some lectures will be given in English and French.
Unfortunately, this year the event will have to be organised online. From one side this means we won’t have the possibility to conduct rehearsals and participate in services. However, online participation opens opportunity to attract those who find it difficult to travel or who have limited time.
The registration for participation in the Conference is now open. The price for participation varies from EUR 39 to EUR 79, depending on the number of days you have chosen (from 1 to 3).
Online activities will take place on 28th and 29th of January from 2:00 pm to 9:30 pm and on 30th of January from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm Central European Time.
Conference registration is open until 24 January 2021.
