AECMC

All-European Church Music Committee

AECMC functions under the auspices of the Synodal Liturgical Music Commission of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia (ROCOR). It was formed in spring 2020, in accordance with decree no. 4-2-20 of the ROCOR Synod of Bishops.

Annual Pan-European
Orthodox Liturgical Music Conferences

The Committee has as its goal the improvement of the quality of church singing and the coordination of church-music activities of the European dioceses of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia. The Committee’s activities in the field of church singing are carried out in collaboration with choir conductors and singers of other churches of the Russian tradition regardless of their jurisdictional affiliation.
We organise Annual Pan-European Conferences, run the Liturgical Music School of ROCOR in Europe and offer online learning and webinars.

The Committee provides a series of internet lectures of well-known specialists in the Church Music field, consisting of four blocs: History of Church Singing; Church Slavonic; Typicon; and Choral Methods.

Already uploaded lectures and webinars may be accessed by clicking on the corresponding button below on this page. Information about new materials will be posted as soon as they are available.

It was a great pleasure to be here and to participate in this fantastic conference. Thank you very much.

 - Ieva (Norway) -

I want to join the chorus of grateful voices and express my personal gratitude for organisation of this wonderful conference, for attention to everyone and support. I was delighted with how efficiently and impeccable all aspects of this process were organised. Not to mention that each of us received a powerful incentive for further work and hope for development.

 - Elena (Portugal) -

I came for the first time at this conference. We have received a lot of benefits, learned a lot and hope that these events will be repeated again and again. We will be happy to participate. Thank you!

 - Mat. Elena (Germany) -

I attended an absolutely delightful concert given by the soloists of the Alexander Nevsky choir with participation of the choir master of the London Cathedral Arseny Kruglov. Being the final event of the conference, the concert gave everyone a sense of the divine influence of sacred music on our life. Thanks to the musicians for not only the excellent performance of the songs, but also for the informative overview of church hymns.

 - Anna (UK) -

Thank you so much for us to be able to share our experiences and knowledge. It was absolutely wonderful!

 - Marlene (USA) -

I am grateful that I attended this event. It was very interesting to see and hear those people who were able to save after the revolution a whole layer of musical culture and convey it. We heard a lot of intonations in this music: homesickness, Berendey motifs. Thank you very much to all the people who managed to organise this.
